Ugly Sweater #8 Finish

 

Sunflower Finish

This lovely sunflower was designed by Eileen Gurak of Handblessings Designs.  It was a gift at our recent ANG Luncheon.  It stitched up quickly.  I understand Eileen will be doing more flowers in a series.

 

Altar Cloth Finish

 

Our EGA Chapter meets at a Lutheran Church, and we always try to help the church if we are able.  From time to time they ask us to embroider on new altar linens.  I had the privilege of stitching on the altar cloth.  It wasn't as easy as you think.  I did a bunch of research and visited other Lutheran Churches to look at their altar cloths.  This is the design I came up with.  It was placed in each corner and in the center.  I think they liked it.

Christmas Banner Finish

 
 I finished the Christmas Banner by Nancy Cucci today.  It was fun to stitch!  I don't know how I will "finish" it, I have other banners that also need to be finished....it will go on the finishing pile

WIP Wednesday 3-31-2021

 

First up is Christmas Banner by Nancy Cucci.  This is a project we are doing for our ANG chapter and it is almost finished.  

I also have been working on a stocking.  This one is by Stoney Creek.  the tree itself has a gazillion shades of green.  I hope to have it finished by Christmas....not saying which year though....

Owen's Hat is Finished!

 I finished Owen's hat today! That's all 5 grandchildren!  They all have a hat now!  

Back to my regularly scheduled stitching!

WIP Wednesday 2-24-2021

 

Making good progress on Owen's hat.  This is the last one that I am making for the grandchildren, well, for this year anyway....

Justin's Hat is Finished

 

Justin's hat is finished!  When I asked him what color he would like, he told me his favorite color is purple or rainbow.  I didn't know rainbow was a color, but I don't argue with my grandchildren!  The yarn store didn't have any purple yarn I like, and I had a rainbow-ish pompom, so rainbow it is!  I hope he like it!

Only one more hat to make for the grandchildren, Owen's hat is next!

The End of an Era

Yesterday, at 3 pm, the doors of Welcome Stitchery closed for the last time in Crystal Lake.  The shop has been sold and the new owner is moving it to Blue Earth MN (home of the jolly green giant).  I will miss this happy place. 

 We will miss Lee and Monica also!  I will look for another framer, and another shop to shop at.

Lee and Monica deserve to retire, and they will be missed!

Pom Poms added to the hats

You might remember that about a year ago, I decided to try and crochet again.  I took a class and made a hat.  The hat was too small for me.  But Peter liked it, so I had planned to gift it to him but that lousy pompom just wouldn't attach itself.  

Since last Saturday was Peter's birthday, it sat down and attached the pompom before heading over to his house for a birthday hug and kiss, and wouldn't you know it, it took all of 5 minutes!  Don't know what took me so long to get it done, but he was thrilled with his new hat.

While I had the yarn needle out, I also attached the pompom to the pink hat that I crochet at the beginning of the COVID stay at home order.  Since my favorite girl, Natalie, loves pink, I thought she might like to have it.  She loved it!  

So now I have two very happy grandchildren....and three sad ones who don't have a hat made by Oma.....

Guess what Oma did today?  I went shopping for yarn for 3 more hats.....
 

First Finish of 2021

This is the Blue Ornament that was a favor at our ANG Chapter Holiday Party.  It took way longer to stitch than it should have, but it is now done.  It was designed by Marguerite Harrington.

Here we are again, finally!  I have been plugging away at Fine Wine at little every day.  This is where I am today.  I do feel like the end is in sight!
