Christmas in July Exchange with my Stitching Divas

The International Stitching Divas decided to do an exchange, sort of like a Christmas in July exchange.  It was meant to be received by July 25th, but we were all a bit late.  The exchange consisted of the following:  a tea towel, a stitched small, a post card and a lolly (which I interpreted as some kind of candy).   Was to send to Coral in Australia, but she hasn't received it yet.

Overachiever that I am, I stitched the tea towel instead of just purchasing one and I also stitched a scissor fob, both of which are in the picture.  I included a post card of Chicago and some Gummi Bears because I was afraid that chocolate would melt.

I received my package from Suzanne, who lives in Fort Nelson, British Columbia, Canada.  She sent a lovely tea towel with a machine embroidered Canadian post card on it, a wonderful stitched bread cloth perfect for Christmas, two postcards and some candy.  The candy didn't make it into the picture.....there was chocolate involved, boy was it yummy!  Thanks Suzanne!  I loved everything!

Patriotic Mail Art

I was involved in a Mail Art exchange recently, and here is the piece that I stitched for Marie.

The design on the front is from Sue Hillis' It's Summer Chart.

The design on the back is from Sue Hillis' Liberty chart.  The fabric I used for the lining has fire crackers on it.

I enclosed a postcard of Chicago and two skeins of Weeks Dye Works Americana floss.

I hope Marie likes it!

from Maddy

I received this lovely ornament from Maddy in the ornament exchange on the Crafty Natter Message board.

Maddy remembered that I love blue, so she stitched this one with that in mind, and I love how it turned out!

Thank you Maddy!

From Patsy!

I got this lovely counted canvas ornament from Patsy. We were partners in an ornament exchange. I gave her one of my strawberries, and this is what she chose to stitch for me, and I love it!
I need to go find the chart and make a few of these to give as gifts next year.

Pin Pillows

I finally am able to post pictures of this fun exchange that was hosted by Becky a number of months ago.

This is the pin pillow that I stitched for Despina. After a number of mishaps and mailing issue, I have finally received word from Despina that it arrived in her mailbox.

I received this lovely pin pillow from Lillie, who lives in Malaysia. Thank you, Lillie, for the lovely pin pillow!

And thanks to Becky for hosting the exchange!

Spring!

Last spring I was part of an exchange with the Divas, but my part of the exchange never arrived. It is floating out there somewhere, or was misdirected by the USPS. Although I told Nancy not to, she stitched another piece for me and I just love it! It is so perfect for this time of year. I just love bunnies and Easter and spring and flowers and baskets....so I don't have to tell you that I just love this cube!
Thank you Nancy, you didn't have to, but I am glad you did!

The Sending of the Green

I recently participated in a "Green" exchange on the Threads of Life message board. I received this wonderful package from Elaine. So many lovely green things. I especially love the Ladybug socks!

Below you can see what I sent Suzie for this exchange. It was fun hunting for green things to include.

Happy Valentine's Day

Here is my Valentine finish which was sent to Sara.

Sara was my partner in the Divas' Valentine exchange, and I originally wanted to stitch a hardanger heart for her, but then I was asked to stitch a model for Nashville, I knew I wouldn't have the time to devote to the hardanger piece.
Plan B was a biscornu with hearts on it. Seemed like a good idea at the time, except that when I was almost finished I remembered
that I had already sent that same biscornu to Sara for a previous exchange. Plan C was the ornament that you see pictured here. It is a free chart that I found on a blog. Seemed like a good idea. It stitched up quite quickly, and then I took a peek at Sara's blog, and saw that she had also stitched this freebie! Now what? It was too late to go to plan D, so I sent it to her along with some other goodies. Now she has two of the same ornament. I hope she can forgive my lack of originality.

Thanks Viv, I love it!

Valentine's Exchange

Kim has received the package that I sent to her, so now I can post a picture. This is part of a valentine exchange on the Thread's of Life board. The package that I am to receive has been detained in shipping, but I am sure I will love what Suzie sent, no matter when it gets here.

Looking for a Chart

A number of years ago, I received the hardanger heart ornament that is pictured in this post as part of a hardanger exchange on the Teresa Wentzler Message Board.

I now would like to stitch this as an exchange piece but can not find the chart anywhere. I thought it was a free chart on the Victoria Sampler web site, but it is not there. I would appreciate any help in finding this chart!

Thanks!

On the Eleventh Day of Christmas....

Here are two Strawberries that were stitched as exchange gifts. I haven't yet heard from the recipients if the gifts were received, so I didn't show the entire packages.

These strawberries are Prairie Schooler Designs and I stitched also stitched all six of them for myself but still need to do the finishing.

On the Tenth Day of Christmas....

This is the package that I sent to RaNea for our ornament exchange.

Another Just Nan Whimze Rose ornament! Can you tell I really love stitching this one! I have made and given away dozens of them, and don't have a single one on my own tree.

There were spoolie ornaments as part of the package. My daughter Kristin and I have been making these ornaments for years, and have made and given away hundreds of them!

On the Seventh Day of Christmas...

Here is the ornament other goodies that I sent to Darla for the TOL ornament exchange.
The ornament is a freebie on the Just Nan Site, under the Whimze section. It is called Whimze Rose. It is stitched on 32 count antique white fabric, with DMC fibres instead of the suggested silks.

On the Fifth Day of Christmas....

O received this ornament from the Threads of Life Ornament Exchange. It was stitched by Charlotte, and is really beautiful in real life. It made a wonderful addition to the hand made ornament tree.

On the Fourth Day of Christmas....

At the Threads of Life Board, we had a Christmas Sweet Exchange. The gift had to enclude something related to stitching and something sweet. I received this wonderful package from Karen Jackson! I just love it and can't wait to start stitching.

Here is what I sent to Margie. I forgot about the rules when I put the package together. I had some sweets in it but didn't have something stitching related - unless you count the Christmas fabric that could be used to finish some stitching.....

Fall Exchange

I received a wonderful package from Cynthia recently. It was my part of the Fall/Halloween/orange exchange at the Threads of Life board. I chose fall, and got some lovely fall things.

I sent my gift off to Sue, who also chose fall. It was a fun package to put together.

First Ornament Exchange

This is a picture of the ornament I received from Suzie in the very first exchange I was ever in. It was 2003, and I forgot what I stitched and sent to her.
We were talking about this exchange last summer when we finally met in person, and Suzie couldn't remember what she stitched. I have been meaning to post a picture of it for some time so that she and the rest of you can see this cute little guy!
Thanks again, Suzie. As you can see, I still have it and still treasure it!
