A Finish!

 I finished the last section of the 2020 ANG Stitch of the Month Project.  I am almost sad that it is over!  It was fun to stitch but hard to wait for the next installment!

I am not quite sure what to do with it now.  Should I frame it or make it into a pillow?

SOTM November Finish

 I completed the November Stitch of the Month.  It is the to right and bottom left corners, using the Hungarian Stitch.  Now there is only one month left to go!  I can't wait to get this piece done, I have another piece waiting to go on these stretcher bars!

 Here is the somewhat finished Or Nue' piece.  I haven't yet decided if I will leave it as is or if I will add the words in two of the squares......not sure yet

October Progress and November Goals

 Well...October was not a very good month, stitching wise.  We finally were able to start the Great Kitchen Remodel, and I stupidly volunteered to work early voting.  It will be easy, they said!  They were wrong!  It was brutal!  

November doesn't promise to be any better.  The kitchen remodel is almost done, but then we move furniture, shampoo rugs and unpack boxes!

Fine Wine is coming along nicely.  I was surprised at how much is stitched when I took it off the hoop!

 

A Halloween Finish

 Halloween Tree designed by Mary Waldsmith from the September 2020 Needle Arts magazine.

I have stitched two other whimsical trees that this designer has done, and they are all so very fun!

October Stitch of the Month

The October part of the ANG Stitch of the Month was released on October 1st, so I had to stitch it right away.  Only two more parts to be released and this baby will be finished!

I stitched this ornament by Debby Rowley  The only change I made was adding gold beads instead of gold french knots.

One Nation Framed

Picked this beauty up from being framed yesterday!

One Nation by ByGone Stitches.  Stitched on 25 count blue Lugana over one fabric thread with one strand of floss.  Started July 4, 2019, finished January 6, 2020, 204 hours of stitching.

A Leaf

This was a project for our EGA Chapter, Needle's Nest.  I think I will stitch another leaf but reverse it so I can attach them back to back before attaching it to the cookie cutter......

Another HUM Finish

 Finished up the Diagonal Stitch Sampler a little while ago.  It is also a HUM project from ANG.  This was done on congress cloth with #8 perle cotton.

Straight Sampler Finish

 Finished this little sampler the other day, It is a HUM project from the ANG website.  I stitched this on congress cloth with 8 perle cotton from my stash.

A Quick Finish

I stitched up this little piece that will eventually become a scissor fob to match the All American Frame Weight

Sunday Finish

This morning I finished the stitching on the All American Frame Weight by Margaret Bendig.  This is a project our ANG chapter is doing, and we will be finishing it in December.

Stitch of the Month Part 9

Just finished Part 9 of the Stitch of the Month.  only 3 more parts to go!

And we have a Finish!

I stitched part 9 of the 25th Anniversary Band Sampler, and since that was the final installment, it is finished!!!!!

Here it is in it's glory!  I need some bell pull hardware next time I go to Welcome Stitchery!

August Progress and September Goals

August could have been better, this pandemic is really getting to me!  I didn't get in as much stitching time as I would have liked.  I had two finishes, the August SOTM and Part 8 of the Anniversary Band Sampler.  My main focus was Fine Wine, and I did make great progress on that piece, but am still only about half done.  Hopefully September will be even better

Happy Birthday John!

Today is John's birthday.  We actually celebrated early because he had surgery yesterday on his lip.  Here he is with his favorite cake, a spice cake that was his great-great-great grandmother's recipe.  No other cake will do!

I made good progress on this piece this past week.  A little more than half way done, but going faster than the first have with over 1 skin that had to be frogged!

Lots of progress on Fine Wine this week. 

Part 7 Finish

I received Part 7 to the Needle's Nest 25th Anniversary Sampler yesterday, so I had to sit down to day and stitch it!  Only 2 more parts to go!

WIP Wednesday 7-15-2020

 First up is Fine Wine.  I have done the left arm twice, and the left hand three times!  Since these are being stitched over 1, frogging is a pain!

I also worked on All American Frame Weight by Margaret Bendig. 

WIP Wednesday, 7-8-2020

It's Wednesday again!  So here is what I am working on now.  I have pulled out Fine Wine again and making progress, even though it is slow progress.  Why?  Well, I am stitching the skin (arms and face) and my brilliant plan was to stitch the skin "over one".  (someone shoot me the next time I have a brilliant plan!)

So in place of every charted stitch, I am doing 4 stitches......and it is taking a long time.  But...I am almost done with the skin, so things should move faster after that!

Second Finish this Month

Clover of Clovers by Bent Creek.

This is done over two fabric threads on 18 count linen, with #5 Perle cotton.  A fun and quick stitch!

SOTH - July finished!

 The July section was released on July 1st, so I sat right down and stitched it!  It went fairly quickly, but I am impatient for the August section so the star can be finished, and I want the stitches for the background, too.....I hate waiting

Ta Da! One More June Finish!

Here it is!  Needleworker's Sampler by Sue Hillis!  It took 48 hours to stitch (spread over 13 days) and it was fun!  I did make some changes, Sue charted it with Ecru Perle #8 for the border and 4 of the squares, but I used stranded Ecru DMC, 3 strands for the rice stitch, 2 strands for the sheath stitches and the border.  I used Perle #12 for the open eyelets and Perle #8 for pulled variation satin stitch. 

I am happy with it, and it will be going to the framer one day!

Part 6 Finished

I finished Part 6 of the Anniversary Band Sampler.  I did find out that I can't spell, and add that to not being able to count, I spent more time frogging than stitching....

3 Ugly Sweaters Finishes

The new free series from Handblessings Designs is Cute Little Ugly Sweaters.  I finished the first 3, and am waiting for the rest to be released.  Some may end up being ornaments for the grandchildren!
