WIP Wednesday - 7-27-2016

Sorry, I can't show you what I am stitching today....it's a pair of models for Sue Hillis.  They will be lovely when finished.....

Zelda is Finished!

I am not fond of Halloween, I really don't decorate for it, and I don't really celebrate it, other than candy for the grandchildren and any other little ones that come to the door.  When I first saw this chart, Witches Stitches, by Sue Hillis Designs, I just HAD to stitch her!  Zelda and I have spent some quality time together, and I just love how she turned out.  She is stitched on 28 count Sprite Cashel (a pale lavender hand dyed fabric) with the recommended DMC floss.

Next time I head out to Welcome Stitchery, I will look at frames for her.

WIP Wednesday 7-20-2016

I am plugging away on my little Justin's Superhero alphabet birth sampler.  Just started the letter S so it is moving right along and I hope to have it finished soon!  It is rather hard to get motivated as I have stitched this one before, but I am almost done. 

Back from the Framer

Went to Welcome Stitchery recently to pick up the three pieces I had framed during their May framing sale.  The first one is a Needle Treasures kit, called A Season and A Time, that was stitched on 32 count Lugana, Milk Chocolate, hand dyed by Stephanie. 

 The second one is the original Home of a Needleworker by Little House Needleworks.  I kitted this one up when it first came out (almost 10 years ago!)  I don't know why I kitted it up with 25 count antique white Lugana, but I did, so I stitched it with one strand of the suggested floss over one fabric thread. I love how it came out!

The third piece is Heart of America, also by Little House Needleworks.  It is stitched on 28 count linen (whatever was suggested) and the Crescent Colorworks floss that was included in the kit.  I didn't do this on a different count fabric because of the buttons... I love it, but do wish it wasn't quite so big (I ran out of wall space a long time ago).

In case you are wondering.....I chose the same frame for all three pieces....I don't know why, I just liked it the best for each piece.....

IHSW - The Results

I was a hermit and I stitched.

I stitched on Witches Stitches by Sue Hillis.  Here it is at the start of the weekend.

....and here we are at the end of Sunday evening.  The stitching is finished, but the backstitching still needs to be done.


It was a good weekend!

August Joyful World Stitch-a-Long

When I first saw this installment, I wasn't really sure I liked the doggie, but he turned out rather cute.  All caught up and ahead of the game!

July is Finished

Just as the August square is bring released, I finished stitching the July square!  It feels great to be caught up!

 I really enjoy stitching on this piece!  I just finished up page 2, so now there are only 4 more to go.  Below you can see both parts 1 and 2 together.

Evening in the Harbor

It is was a lovely evening in the harbor again, lovely weather, cocktails and great company.....not much stitching.....

A Finish in Time for the 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!  I finished the stitching on this one just in time for the holiday.  It is a Bent Creek Photo booth design called Friends and Flags.  It is stitched on the 32 count linen that came with the chart, and stitched with the recommended threads.  I really like the designs in this photo booth series. 

A Different Kind of Finish

My brother and one of my nephews were driving through Chicago on their way to Thompson and stopped for the night at "Eva's Bed and Breakfast".  Here is the breakfast, a German Apple Pancake. 

I have made this before, and it has always been a hit, but this time I used three apples instead of the 2 called for in the recipe, and my nephew Joey, declared that it was the 'perfect apple to pancake ratio".

....and the 'finished' it....now leftovers!

June Progress, July Goals
