I just received word that the Mail Art piece that I sent has been received! It arrived in Germany without a single speck of dirt or dust, in pristine condition.
I am a bit annoyed with myself. I had intended a different finish for the envelope which would have centered the motifs better but I was in a bit of a hurry when I was doing the construction and I 'forgot' what I originally intended. It was too late to re do it, so.....it went off in the mail a bit lopsided.....
edited to add: the motifs are from It's Autumn, and older chart by Sue Hillis!

Mail Art Received
I was asked to join a German Mail Art group on Facebook recently. The first exchange that I participated in was a fall themed exchange.
I received this piece in the mail this weekend. Sabine did a beautiful job of stitching and constructing the envelope, unfortunately, she was afraid to put it in the mail, so she put it in another envelope to mail. It doesn't have stamps on this piece or the cancelation. I must say that I am a bit disappointed, as the stamps and cancelation give the envelope character.

Kim's Round Robin
While at the retreat, I stitched this for Kim's Round Robin. We are each to stitch our inital, I'm not really sure if I want to be remembered as an elephant.....

Last weekend, I spent 3 days on the Southside of Chicago, specifically in Crestwood, at the annual South Side Get Together. The group was a bit smaller this year, but it was still a lot of fun. So much fun and stitching went on that I forgot to take pictures! I did take a trip to the Inspired Needle in Lemont while I was in the area for some much needed supplies.

September Progress, October Goals
It was a busy month with the beginning of German School and lots going on at the regular job. I did manage to get in an average of 3 hours per day on my stitching. Most of the month, stitching wise was taken up with Natalie's Birth Sampler. It is almost done, just another day or two.
