Our EGA chapter hosted an Illinois State Day today. Marguerite (no blog) and I have been working on this for over a year and the day had finally come! Our instructor was Kay Stanis of the Gilded Edge and she was teaching silk and metal thread emboidery. The project that we had chosen was Overture 2. 
Kay was a great instructor, and was more than happy to demonstrate stitches and techniques. We all learned a great deal!
Here is my piece at the end of class. Not as much progress as some of the others because I was busy getting lunch and setting up and cleaning up, but it was progress. I can't wait to get back to it and get it finished!
