Framing Done!

Welcome Stitchery has a framing sale every May, and you can have up to 3 pieces framed at the sale price.  So....here we are!

First up is Judith Kirby's Halloween Houses.  thank you to my dear friend Lynn for painting the fabric, and to Michelle for giving me the nudge to get this stitched!

Next is Owen's Birth Sampler.  Owen turned 2 in January and the stitching was done shortly after his birthday, but I wanted to wait for the framing sale.  So here it is.  It was a Dimensions kit (did I mention I hate doing kits?) and although it wasn't that much fun to stitch, I love how it turned out!

Finally, we have the Superhero Alphabet that I stitched for Peter.  He was 2 in January also.  I finished the stitching a few months ago, but waited for the framing sale.  Peter's parents found the chart in and Etsy shop, and asked me to stitch it.  I didn't think I would like stitching it, but it was for a grandchild, so how could I say no?  Surprisingly, it was really fun to stitch!  I tried to do one letter and character per day, so it was finished in less than a month!

Tree Farm Finish

I finished the stitching on Tree Farm by Little House Needleworks not too long ago.  I started it over a month ago, but put it aside to work on the Hardanger piece.

Here it is all stitched up, ormanetification will happen at a later date.

Neelepoint Retreat

It is time again for our annual ANG Fox chapter retreat to Galena, Illinois.  Again this year we are staying and stitching at the De Soto House hotel in downtown Galena.  It is a charming hotel!

Fourty of us spent 4 days (and nights!) stitching away!  A fun time was had by all!

Delicate Daisy Hardanger Table Mat

Hey there blogging buddies!

If you have been checking out my blog posts recently, this piece might look more than a little familiar to you, besides that you saw it on WIP Wednesdays.

I had stitched the matching table runner in March, and decided to do the companion pieces because it sounded smaller and less complicated......wrong!  It took just as long as the runner!  But it is done and I am happy with it.

Internation Hermit and Stitch Weekend Results

I did find some time to stitch!  Well, Friday evening, I spent all of my time doing the final cutting my Hardanger Table Mat, and Sunday I spent some time taking my Dad (and Mom and sister) to Brunch, grocery shopping, some laundry, cleaning up and a nap.  No time for stitching on Sunday.  Back to Friday,  I must say, that digging out the 'good' Ginger scissors really makes cutting easier, and only one little stitch needed to be fixed (I had accidentally cut it).  Will show you the finished project another day.  Saturday, bright and early at the crack of 8 am, Michelle picked me up and we headed out to Crystal Lake for a day of stitching at the Park District.  I started and finished this piece: Quaker Birds by Little House Needleworks.  Ornamentification will happen at a later date.

We stopped for lunch, all set for the loaded Baked Potato Soup at the Williams Street Public House, but....when we got there it was shuttered and lock, forever!  So we headed across the street to Finn McCool's.  Luckily they had a few regular height tables and chairs, so that no crane was needed to hoist this old lady up onto a stool at a high top table.  We both ended up ordering sliders....they were yummy.

We also stopped in at Welcome Stitchery so that I could collect the 3 pieces I had brought in for framing recently.  Will show you those another day, too!

Patriotic Banner Finish!

Finished!  and in record time!  This is Patriotic Banner by Nancy Cucci.  It was a class at my ANG chapter last year......I didn't even start it until this past Saturday, and it is finished.  The picture doesn't do it justice.  It is done on sparkly canvas, and lots of beads and shiny blue Fyre Werks!  I have completed the Autumn Banner, and hope to do the other two seasons before I 'finish' them.

International Hermit and Stitch Weekend

Well, I haven't really participated in one of these for quite some time, but I do believe I should have a good block of stitching time this weekend, so I will jump right in!  Be sure and check back to see what I did accomplish.

WIP Wednesday June 17, 2015

Hey there, blogging buddies!  So sorry I missed last week's WIP Wednesday.  I was exclusively working on my hardanger piece, mostly white on white, and although I had made a great deal of progress, you really couldn't tell.

I am happy to report that I finished the piece over the weekend, on Saturday early afternoon, to be exact.  After a bath and some pressing, I will show you a picture of the finished piece.  I also finished Tree Farm by Little House Needleworks on Saturday evening!  Two finishes in one day!  It needs some pressing before I show you that one too.

I started Patriotic Banner by Nancy Cucci on Saturday evening, and I should have it finished in a few days.

May Progress and June Goals

Not as much stitching in May as I would have liked.  Mother's Day program and Graduation/End of year program and German school are always a lot of work and take away from my stitching time.  I had hoped to have two more finishes this month, but it just didn't happen.
