Kinderfasching Chicago Style

This past Sunday, we celebrated Kinderfasching! This is the first of two children's Mardi Gras events at our German club.

The costumes were wonderful! These were my favorites, a shark, a hot dog, Hanna Montana, and Minnie Mouse.

There was music by the Fanfahrenzug, high-stepping dances by the Amazonen...

...and funny hats!

The Karnival Prinz, S. T. Prinz Bobby d. 1. has the longest feathers!

Cute pictures. Those kids seem to have fun at Fasching. Here Fasching is only at the end of February.

So, have I mentioned that I think it's hysterical that we have a Prinz Bobby?

Love the hot dog!

Prinz Bobby is a hoot! He is actually a Chicago Police officer, which is why is funny hat is blue and white instead of the traditional red and white, and is septer has the traditional CPD checkerboard around it. His wife, I.L Sylia d. 1. is German of German descent.

OMG that reminds me of when I went to Polish school when I was a child. I want to come and enjoy next time!
