Another Table Topper finished!

This sunflower table topper was stitched for Sue Hillis' table. I finished the backstitching just a few minutes after midnight on Monday night. It looks great on her table. One of her kitties, Ethel, thinks I made it for her. Every time I stitched on this at Sue's house, Ethel came to inspect it, and then took a nap on it. Now that it is finished, she keeps trying to get up on the table to take a nap on it, much to Sue's dismay.

Hello from Richmond Virginia!

This weekend, I am in Richmond, Virginia, helping to organize a stitching retreat for a bunch of crazy women. I taught a Hardanger class, did a Mail Art Demonstration, and did lots of other organzing. It was a great event. This first photo is of the Tea Party held Saturday afternoon at Sue's home. Yes, many of the ladies were wearing hats!

Here is most of the group. We had two car loads of crazy Canadians, we had a number of people drive up from Florida. from Texas, Ohio, Kentucky, from Georgia, from all over the eastern US, and one came all the way from Austrailia.

I did not get much sleep at all, and didn't get much stitching done either.

Memories
Light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were

Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me - Would we? Could we?

Memories
May be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget

So it's the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were

EMS Rose Sampler May Stitching

Ellen Maurer-Stroh, my favorite Austrian designer, released part 5 of her year-long Rose Sampler project recently. Here is part 5 all stitched:

Here is the sampler complete so far:

I really love stitching this one, I reminds me of the wall hanging my grandmother had in her kitchen when I was growing up, except hers was in blue.
